You will be independent in relation to food, housekeeping, washing and other daily tasks; the level of cooperation between people will be worked out by you like in any shared living arrangement.

In India

In Hyderabad, you will also live independently in apartment-style living; this will be in an urban setting close to public transport. Housing will be safe and within reasonable distance of the place of the internships. Participants will be independent in relation to food, cooking, cleaning. During trips out of Hyderabad to villages, housing will be made available according to local standards.

You should bring a sleeping bag for holiday traveling, sleeping out in nature and for use as necessary while washing your sheets and blankets. LIFE participants will have an active role in setting up the apartments where possible rather than move into completely set-up apartments.

There will be 2-3 programmed weekends when you will need ot be availabel for group programing.

Family and friends may wish to plan visits accordingly. These are the only dates during which participants will not be obligated to participate in work, learning programs, etc.

5. Participation

Your full participation in every activity and project of LIFE is expected. This means far mroe than showing up; it means openness, investment of energy and time, taking initiative and more. Togteher with this, we recognise that form time to time you may have special circumstances that make participation a challenge and you are invited to discuss these situations with us.

6. Rules

Travel to another country (from India or from Israel) is not allowed without written staff approval. Doing so can serve as grounds for dismissal from the program. Special family circumstances requiring travel should therefore be brought to the staff's attention well in advance, where possible, or immediately in the case of an emergency to enable an appropriate and timely response.

Early departures or late returns from vacation periods can serve as grounds for dismissal from the program.

Leaving or ceasing to participate in the program without written permission from staff can serve as grounds for dismissal from the program.

LIFE requires participants to confirm to all laws of the country in which they are living. We will not be able to assist participants who break the law, irrespective of the nature of the infringement. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of illegal drugs. Law breaking is considered by LIFE to be self-destructive and damages the program’s standing in the eyes of local partners and potential future participants. Irrespective of whether lawbreaking by a participant leads him/her to be caught or charged by local authorities, it is sufficient grounds for being removed from the program.
